Please join us for a presentation of student-led projects from Theater of War Productions’ Practices in Community Building workshops, featuring professional actors and students performing seminal texts as a catalyst for guided audience discussions about pressing issues on campus, grounded in the lived experiences of Columbia students. Using scenes from The Odyssey, Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, Lungs by Duncan Macmillan, the Bhagavad Gita, and Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka to generate a shared vocabulary for discussing challenging topics, these projects are aimed at fostering brave spaces for dialogue, connection, compassion, understanding, and positive action.
Featuring performances by David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck., Lincoln), Amy Ryan (The Office, Only Murders in the Building), Frankie Faison (The Wire, Coming to America), and Marjolaine Goldsmith (Company Manager, Theater of War Productions), with support from Bryan Doerries (Artistic Director, Theater of War Productions).
Presented by Theater of War Productions, the Undergraduate Community Initiative, and the Center for the Core Curriculum.
