Fac' to Table: Gil Eyal & Hamid Dabashi

November 19, 2025

Hamilton Hall, 1130 Amsterdam Ave., New York, NY 10027 202

Fac’ to Table is a new meal series that gathers Columbia undergraduate students together with Columbia faculty for conversation and connection. Over a shared meal in different spaces on campus, professors will talk about the questions that first sparked their curiosity, the twists and turns that led them into their fields, and the puzzles that still keep them searching. These aren’t lectures—they’re conversations about how professors find their paths, and how you might begin to trace your own.

Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. in the Core Curriculum Seminar Room in 202 Hamilton for a dinner conversation between Professor Hamid Dabashi (Hagop Kevorkian Professor of Iranian Studies and Comparative Literature) and Professor Gil Eyal (Professor of Sociology) about origins and ideas: how each professor’s journey informs their vision of the possibilities of undergraduate education. Dinner will be served.
